About the Role
Our client, an established manufacturing company in Etobicoke, is seeking an experienced Machine Setup Operator with a strong background in the metal stamping industry. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up dies, adjusting presses, and ensuring production runs smoothly and safely. Key Responsibilities
Die & Machine Setup: Install, align, and secure stamping dies, punches, and coil feeders onto metal stamping presses according to production blueprints.
Production Run Control: Run test parts to verify setups, make necessary mechanical adjustments, and operate the machinery to fulfill production quotas.
Quality & Inspection: Inspect stamped parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to guarantee they meet strict specifications and tolerances.
Troubleshooting: Monitor machine performance during runs, identify any tool wear or alignment issues, and troubleshoot errors on the fly.
Safety & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on presses and dies, keeping a clean and safe industrial workspace.
What We’re Looking For
Industry Experience: 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience as a setup operator specifically within a metal stamping plant or specialized machine shop.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical presses, automatic feeders, and progressive or stage tooling.
Precision Skills: Ability to read manufacturing blueprints and confidently use precision measuring instruments.
Reliability: A team player who is detail-oriented, possesses strong troubleshooting skills, and prioritizes shop safety. #AES3#
